Stars from the "Joe Darrah Collection"
Here are some pics from my personal collection of throwing stars...
The first one is a star that is 10 inches across. I call it the
"Tri Blade Star".
My son Shane had the idea for this "star". (Proud Fatherly grin :-)
Its made from a lugnut wrench.
The 3rd is a 9 inch, 3/16 inch thick, regular throwing star.
The 4th is a type of throwing star they used to sell many years
ago. It is slightly concave, or convex depending on how you hold
it, and will stay in the air longer like a frisbee.
The 5th is a Mineral Mountain half moon star that is 1/4" thick
and very heavy!
The 6th is a set of stars a buddy of mine named Jeff Adams
made for me. They are really nice, heavy and sharp! I also have spikes,
knives and a rope dart that he made.
Looks like just a plain old 2 pointed thrower... :-)
And then "poof" its a 4 pointed "folding" throwing star.
The 9th is a 6 1/2 inch disc that is called a "chakram" that was used
in India. (And Xena The Warrior Princess also uses one of these on
television :-)
And finally the 10th picture is 3 worn out Marble/Granite cutting blades.
A buddy of mine works for a place that cut's stone and when they are
worn out like that they throw them away.
