Subscribe and Unsubscribe Information ======================================= 1. WHAT'S NEW Hey Guys and Gals!!! Let me tell you I realize that my new weekly schedule for the newsletter has already come and gone but I have a good excuse :) I got a call a little over 2 weeks ago from my Dr. asking if I was interested in getting a pancreas transplant. Since I have been on the "waiting list" for over a year I jumped at the opportunity! ------------------------------------------------------ I've been taking about 3 insulin injections per day, for the last 24 years of my life. Thats roughly 25,000 "sticks" in a row. No Bounces or clangs... Beat them odds!!! :))) ------------------------------------------------------ So anyway, everything went fantastic and I'm back on the road to recovery! I've still got some recuperating to do so it'll be a few more weeks til I'm back at 100%, but I just wanted to let you all in on the good news. Also, be ready for some great upcoming issues. Plan on receiving 1 issue every two weeks for a while though... hope you understand ;-) Thanks much to everyone for their wishes, thoughts, cards, flowers and prayers. I can't begin to imagine having to go through this without the support from my family and new friends I've met since starting this site, you guys are the best! Have a safe and healthy 2003!!! GUEST COLUMN: PAY FOR SPIKES... BUT WHY? by K. E. Sackett Spikes? Did somebody utter my middle name? Fact is, I've only ONCE paid actual money for spikes: three feet of 1/4" key stock that I cut and filed into three nice, but too light, throwers. Mostly I make 'em out of "Junque a la Edouard", scrounged from machine-shop refuse and other 100% free trash: rebar, worn-out scissors, awning frames, warped shafting, broken screwdrivers, abandoned pitchforks (nice temper on those), mysterious lengths of steel that I can't identify, and so on and on. Yes, I know, Pro Flights and Brantons are nice, but a devout cheapskate (my 'other' middle name) will always love his home-made spikes!!! Article Contributed By: K. E. Sackett sackett@dbo.eng.wayne.edu To check out some other great designs just follow this link and you'll find spikes that you can make yourself, or buy from the Throwzini Store: http://www.throwzini.com/spikes.html VIDEO LINK ============================================= 3.
