WELCOME TO THE 3RD ANNUAL "HURLATHON"! (Now the "West COAST MASTER'S OPEN") by Lee Fugatt The event will be held June 15, 16, and 17, 2001 at 21713 Elk Trail West, in Redding, CA 96003 This location is the mountain home of PKT, AKTA and IKTA member Lee Fugatt. "I am happy to be inviting all of our throwing friends to camp out, eat great BBQ, and incidently compete in AKTA sanctioned, PKT supported KNIFE THROWING contest, HAWK THROWING contest, and SPEAR THROWING contest!!! PRIZES 1st Prize for KNIFE THROWING will be a nice trophy plus a custom inscribed WAHOS'I. Trust me these things are getting popular. 1st Prize for the HAWK THROWING will be a nice trophy and, of course, a custom hawk the likes of which you've never seen! 1st Prize for the SPEAR THROWING will be a Fugatt "WAMBLI". A handmade throwing spear that would not look out of place in a museum. (2nd and 3rd Place Trophies will be awarded as well.) OTHER ACTIVITIES We will also be doing a walk/throw on my training course, and we'll be holding workshops on everything from knife throwing to bola and sling making. Rick Lemberg, President of the PKT and Matthew Rappaport the host for the THROWER Page will also be there! So bring your knives, hawks, boomerangs, spears, bolas, atlatls, darts and any other "Throwing Thingie" you have and come and have a great time! The camping is free but be sure to bring something for the BBQ on Saturday! ENTRY FEE THIS YEAR To help pay for trophies there will be an entry fee of $10 If you don't want to rough it, the closest decent hotel is "The Holiday Inn Express". 530 241-5500 ALSO BRING Sun screen, camp stove if you got one 'cuz we can't have open fires, a flash light or lantern and some good thick soled shoes.
