Fellow throwers, I've been throwing for about two years now and I've had some time to reflect on my equipment. Like most of you, I had gathered lots of different throwing knives and other pointy things, thinking "the ad said throwing knife, so this must be a throwing knife!" I had about 60 different knives before I actually visited a web site and saw what knife throwing was REALLY all about. My real improvement started when I purchased real throwing knives and a video that actually had some knife throwing information. My point is this, if you are really serious about knife and tomahawk throwing buy good equipment. In the long run it will save you lots of time and money. Buy implements that were really designed for throwing. Buy the best and throw your best. When you master the basics, then pick up the junk, like Lee Fugatt does, and make it stick anytime. Well, I hope this helps the new throwers to get started in throwing knives and tomahawks. I encourage all of you to come to a tournament and meet some great people. (And, yes, you are good enough to compete in a tournament.) Besides, your skills will improve DRAMATICALLY when you throw with other throwers. Hope to see you at one of the upcoming tournaments!
